TANZANIA-USA REGIONAL ADVANCED CANCER-CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE INVESTMENT FORUM

The Tanzania-USA Regional Advanced Cancer-Center of Excellence (TRACCE) vision is to provide leading world-class comprehensive cancer care complemented with leading-edge research, education and outreach powered by advanced information and communication technology and artificial intelligence. The Investment Forum, co-organized by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania and the Global Health Catalyst, will provide potential domestic and foreign investors, as well as the intermediaries, with information and opportunities for investment and collaboration. The event follows a launch of the Lancet Oncology Commission for sub-Saharan Africa in Tanzania, and Tanzania-USA collaboration meeting in Washington, towards extending the USA Cancer Moonshot globally. The Lancet Oncology commission includes recommendations to establish such centres’ of excellence crucial for curbing the growing cancer emergency in Tanzania/sub-Saharan Africa and achieving political commitments to the UN Sustainable Development Goals to reduce premature mortality from non-communicable diseases by a third by 2030. The Forum organized around World Cancer Day highlights the government’s commitment to advancing healthcare and development and working in collaboration with USA and other local and international stakeholders.
